What the app does

• Install with one click. SeekGist creates your store and sends all your products in one Shopify bulk export, then keeps them fresh with Shopify's product webhooks (create, update, delete). A full sync runs again every 24 hours.
• Search on your storefront, through a theme app embed: suggestions while typing and a results panel, in Arabic and English, with your colors.
• Safe fallback. If SeekGist is slower than 300 ms or fails, your theme's own search answers. Shoppers never see an error page. See Store fallback.
• An admin page inside Shopify: on/off switch, sync status, "Sync now" and the fallback count.
• Translations approved in SeekGist can be written back to Shopify (title and description), if you turn it on for your store.

Install

1. In your Shopify admin, open Apps and install SeekGist Search.
2. Approve the access: read products, write products (only used for translations) and read languages.
3. SeekGist opens inside Shopify, creates your store and starts the first product sync.
4. Open Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds, turn on SeekGist Search, and click Save.
5. Search your store in Arabic and in English.

App embed settings

In the theme editor you can set:

• what happens when the shopper presses Enter: SeekGist results in a panel, or your store's search page;
• the accent color and the corner radius;
• a search box selector, only if your theme's search box is not found.

Everything else is in the SeekGist page inside Shopify.

Turn it off

Use the switch in the SeekGist app: your theme's search comes back at once (within 30 seconds for cached pages). You can also turn the app embed off in the theme editor.

Data

Shopify's privacy webhooks (customer data request, customer redact, shop redact) are handled. SeekGist stores no shopper names, emails or addresses. See Security and your data.
